The African Coalition for Corporate Accountability (ACCA) is pleased to announce the new members of its Steering Committee, elected at the 7th General Assembly of the ACCA. After an open call for applications among the ACCA membership, the new Steering Committee members were duly elected by eligible ACCA members at the GA held from 24 - 25 November 2021 in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo. Voting took place electronically on 25 November 2021 in line with all ACCA voting protocols.
The ACCA Steering Committee is now composed of eight ACCA member organisations across four African regions - South, East, West and Central Africa.
The full membership of the new ACCA Steering Committee is as follows:

- Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD), Malawi
- Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER), Uganda
- Jamaa Resource Initiatives, Kenya
- Dimension Humaines (DH), Togo
- African Mining Alliance (AMA), Mali
- Global Network for Good Governance (GNGG), Cameroon
- Afriwatch, Democratic Republic of Congo
The newly elected members of the Steering Committee elected their two co-Chairs to be the Center for Applied Legal Studies and Dimension Humaines.
As the new members of the Steering Committee begin their tenure, ACCA would like to extend a gracious thank you to the following outgoing members of the steering committee: i) Zimbabwean Environmental Law Association (ZELA); ii) Legal and Human Rights Center (LHRC); iii) Global Rights; iv) Groupe de Recherche et de Plaidoyer sur les Industries Extractives (GRPIE); v) Rencontre pour la Paix et les Droits de l'Homme (RPDH), and vi) Public Interest Law Center (PILC), for their time and considerable efforts in promoting and furthering the work of ACCA throughout their tenure. Special thanks also go to Global Network in Nigeria and Groupe de Recherche et de Plaidoyer sur les Industries Extractives (GRPIE) who led the outgoing members of the steering committee as the two co-Chairs. We look forward to continued work with the outgoing members of the Steering Committee who remain ACCA members.
The Center for Applied Legal Studies remains on the steering committee for one more term, having served only one term in the previous committee.
To the new members of the Steering Committee, we extend a warm welcome and look forward to each of your unique contributions towards the achievement of ACCA’s core objective - protecting the rights of African communities affected by business activities.
