The African Coalition for Corporate Accountability (the ACCA) is delighted to be holding its second meeting next week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 18 to 20 September.
This is immediately after the first-ever African Regional Forum on Business & Human Rights, co-hosted from 16 to 18 September by the African Union Commission, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Today, the ACCA is proud to count 88 civil society organizations from 27 countries among the signatories to the Declaration. This second meeting of the ACCA will be pivotal in determining the structure and next steps for a locally-led and sustainable coalition.
An agenda is available in English and French.
Ms. Sheila Keetharuth, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Eritrea and former coordinator of the Coalition for an Effective African Court, will facilitate this exciting and critical meeting. Global Rights, the international NGO that helped launch the ACCA, is hosting the meeting, thanks to generous financial support from Australian Aid and an anonymous donor.
